From the (sometimes crazy) mind of Julie Maloney, the Cool Mom Guide was born in the summer of 2008 in Fort Mill, SC. Julie’s love of writing and love of being a mother came together to try to be the Erma Bombeck of blogging, but those are big shoes to fill.
Born in upstate NY the youngest of 4 children, Julie has always been outgoing. Funny, smart and fantastic (can’t tell who wrote this?), Julie aspired to be a writer since she was young. She was a popular writer in the Syracuse Herald Journal’s Hj magazine for 6 years, where she graced the magazine’s cover 8 times. Julie also wrote for the SUNY Oswego campus paper and had a radio show on the local Syracuse college channel, Z89.
Since moving to the South, Julie took time away from writing to focus on motherhood and family. With things finally starting to settle, writing again was the natural next step in her life. She hopes to reach out to the world with her words, making new friends and acquaintances along the way.
Father/Husband/Writer J. Burrows has offered up his services to this site to give us one man’s view of the world in “What He Has to Say” (WHHTS) where he writes about all things from being a father and husband to sports and politics.
